30.03.2015 - All abstracts now published, plus online photo gallery giving on-site impressions

Today saw the publication of the abstracts of poster presentations and talks which were part of the 4th LifeTrain Workshop, held in Brussels on 2 and 3 March 2015. Together with a summary of conclusions as well as downloadable speakers’ slides, posters and a photo gallery, this now makes the workshop’s online documentation complete.

Further significant step
EMBL-European Bioinformatics Institute’s Claire Johnson, who headed this year’s workshop’s program committee, is very pleased with the results: “With the 2015 LifeTrain workshop we have made yet another significant step in creating awareness for education and training in biomedical research among the very heterogeneous group of signatories, supporters and friends. However, from the workshop’s conclusions it is clear that we still have quite some work to do, particularly around further clarifying our messages and increasing engagement”, she adds.

Driving lifelong learning for biomedical professionals
The LifeTrain initiative addresses how continuing professional development can be better coordinated to strengthen biomedical research and development in the European Union. LifeTrain develops a coherent approach to the mutual recognition of continuing professional development and promotes the creation of competency profiles describing the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes required for specific roles and positions in the life cycle of medicines development.

LifeTrain is funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative, a public-private partnership comprising the European Union and the European pharmaceutical industry, represented by EFPIA.
