Welcome to the 8^th edition of inside_ON-COURSE . At the top you will find a bar chart with the number of entered Master programmes, PhD programmes and Short courses (CPD) as of 14^th January 2013. For our main body of data we start by presenting the credit type and range for masters (taught and research) in Europe. Of interest is the larger proportion of research masters offered in the UK compared with the rest of Europe and the fact that UK masters courses are almost exclusively 180 CATS (90 ECTS) whereas the rest of Europe offer a range of credits (60-120 ECTS). This is further broken down to show which countries offer which range of credits. Funding opportunities for PhDs and certificates for CPDs are also explored in this edition. In our section titled Service you find the Short courses (CPD) calendar for February 2013 which lists the 35 courses hosted between the 1^st and the 27^th. We also continue our series of interactive google maps. For this edition we've created the 'ON-COURSE_Baltic States' map, where we’ve put together the higher education institutions in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania which offer biomedical courses.
