PPP PhD Workshops
The EMTRAIN PhD Workshops
Introduction:
In total 135 students from 17 companies, 56 universities and 22 different countries have attended the five EMTRAIN Public-Private Partner (PPP) PhD workshops and most are members of the social network. The feedback from the participants has proven that the workshops were extremely successful in producing a cohort of industry-aware PhD students. The background has been published: It pays to promote joint PhD programmes between academia and the private sector. Journal of Medicines Development Sciences, vol.1 (2): 37–40. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/294109604_It_pays_to_promote_joint_PhD_programmes_between_academia_and_the_private_sector
The workshop objectives were:
1.To create a forum for PPP PhD-students where they meet, share experience and connect as a step towards growing into their role as industry-aware scientists.
2.To create a network of PPP PhD students.
3.To enhance the connection between industry and academia.
4.To increase drug industry awareness in PhD students.
The following is a repository of the workshop programmes and we hope that others will “steal with pride” when they are designing workshops.
